Hey Rusty,
I subscribed to your blog awhile ago, but this is the first post that I've seen on my feed reader. It's kind of funny because I saw the blog title and thought "What is Thoughts & Stories?" and "who posted something about a New Semester." (It seemed out of place amongst my assortment of tech feeds and CES coverage.) However, this post is a pleasant surprise to be sure, because I had forgotten about your blog. (That’s what happens to forlorn blogs like yours, Chester's, and mine - people forget that they even exist. How sad!)
Of course, I haven't forgotten you; in fact, I've been thinking about you and how you've applied to law school ever since I ran into you at River Valley the other day. It was nice of you to stop by; it sure has changed a lot, hasn’t it? Sometimes, but not always, it's fun to be a little retrospective. For instance, ages ago you went to RV and I was trying to decide how to approach high school. I knew that I was favoring a non-traditional format, but I certainly wasn't confident that RV would work for me. Your confidence that I would survive there really helped my confidence at the time. Look at me today! I've almost made it - only a semester to go. While we’re looking back, I’d like to mention that I'm really glad that I went to RV. It's allowed me to pursue some things and experiences that I wouldn't have had elsewhere. So, thank you, Rusty. Your support way back when has made a difference for me.
I just want to conclude this awfully long reply by saying that I have confidence in you too! You've obviously accomplished a ton and I think you will do great at whatever you pursue, be it Law or something else. Best of luck with this final semester and with the law school apps. I'll pray for you.
Keep the updates coming. I’ll try to remember that “Thoughts and Stories” is your blog in the future. And, by the way, do you go by Russell now? Am I clueless and you’ve always gone by that? I guess I’ve been out of touch for a long time, but I could have sworn that I called you Rusty.
Peace,
